Doesn't boost the confidence when the Brit nearly cut through a mains cable and the Pole started making the foundation 2' too small.

end conclusion of customers .....

The guy who had the english builder would never have an English builder again

The couple who had the Polish builder would never have a Polish builder again.

What does it say about builders in general

Seeing those two builders in action, I would use that Polish one but keep an eye on the work. The english builder I would not trust to build a house of cards

Totally agree with you Hoovie.

The english builders work was terrible

Where the polish guy went wrong was that he under estimated the cost of the job.

Programme was a load of tosh you should know right from the start that
one was not going to be any better than the other, both a pair of num nuts

Its the same in any line of work

Some people in IT you would'nt touch with a barge pole and the same
goes for some Martial art instructors

It takes years to build up a good reputation and in some cases not long to lose it

My point is there's good and bad

Totally agree mate, the pole cut his own throat and if he had quoted properly with the right timings would have done a good job (from what we were shown) although if his customer had of spoken to me like like I would have buried the fecker under his extension! The other was an out and out chancer almost to the point of suspicion of being an actor, because we can all trust the TV companies

The whole programme was a good example of TV editing at its best, funny how the good customer got the very dodgy builder whilst the pole, and this is my opinion had his customer been more reasonable would have produced a good job, especially with the moving of the man hole, the guy was a real arse over the cost of moving that!

i caught this at the point of moving the manhole; not sure what the deal with it was but bobski's customer was a real d!ck.

programme i thought was intentionally spun in that way.... not sure why??? and im pretty sure you guys wont be impressed by the bad image just splashed around; esp at this time.

i think a good ending would be to get the 2 customers to see each others jobs and compare prices/notes....

but talk about propaganda and bias documentaries!

A lot of TV programs are like this and they do it intentionally.

I nearly went on Tennants from hell once, but they would probably of portrayed me in a bad light and so I didn't bother. Also the tennant was extremely good at milking the legal aid system and so she would probably of sued me at the expense of the tax payer

The Polish lad cut his own throat with his price, but the English guy, what a load of crap, and at one point he had 5 brickies on it!
The state that the work left in was absolutly rubbish and over priced!

Even if the who show was fixed to find a poor quality english builder (which doesn't seem that hard a task!), at least people will be warned of that idiot if nothing else.

He'll probably appear on Rogue Traders soon enough though

oh - and it was quite funny that even though Bobskis original customer took the mickey, their electrician obviously seemed happy enough to employ him to do his extension afterwards

Just shows if you do your homework and know what is what (like a typical tradesman does), you usually know when a fellow tradesmen is good or not

Unfortunately there are a few customers who now act up to get discounts and the like, yet to have such issues as most of my customers are sound.

No mate I think it just comes down to people being reasonable with each other, not much to ask is it? Or is it?
