Thinking of pulling a load of stone fascias off of a fireplace, for a smooth look and a square chimney breast.
The ceiling is artexed with coving around the stone fascias.

If i remove the fascias, it looks like I should be a able to board it within the confines of the existing coving and artex.

Currently tapers up at the top half of the room, so i'd need some sort of framework, plus the front face and reveals back into the fireplace would need doing to keep it in line....

So the question, I was thinking of a timber frame, where needed, and double board with fireline boards, and skim....
especially around the reveals...?

Suitable method, or a no-no...?

Why isn't the number 11 pronounced onety one?
