I have one of the record ones with the adjustable mouth. Does me fine, seems to hold a good edge aswell.

SF do them at a very good price. Thumbright

i bought a stanley one. the sort with adjustable throat etc. just gotta wait for it to be delivered now.

its to replace one i bought from toolstation a few years back. unfortunately its not the greatest. it does but the blade isnt the best and the cam/lever action is a bit hitty missy

i've got the little stanley one, about £20 from screwfix i think.

it's a nice little plane for the money, the sort you see in the axminster catalogue for £100+ must be lovely to use but you'd be scared to take them out of the workshop!

its the same as this one

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Stanley-Low-Angle-Block-Plane-Adjustable-Mouth-Bailey_W0QQitemZ130226747456QQihZ003QQcategoryZ29526QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

aye there well handy like. but those £100 + ones are a bit pricey for general joinery/building type work. they do tend to get battered about a bit in my tool box etc.
