Have you got a 1/8 one to see whether the screw will fit the old one.

No I haven't but when I took mine into plumb centre and compared it to a 1/8bsp it was a lot different, there is no way a 1/8 will fit. I am fairly sure mine is an M7 thread believe it or not. Just got to get hold of an M7 bolt to try it.

I meant the bleed screw not the whole fitting.

Ah ok, sorry my mistake. That is the problem with the fitting I have, originally the bleed screw sheared off, I tried various methods to remove the bleed nipple starting with a small 'easy out', drill, etc but couldn't shift it, I eventually ended up with a knackered hole/thread where the bleed nipple goes. So the actual 'nut' part which I am after still screws into the radiator ok but I cant screw a bleed nipple into it. But, maybe the bleed nipple from a 1/8 or 1/4bsp fitting is larger which would enable me to tap out my existing fitting.... maybe?

I had the same problem 1/2 inch brass available from Homebase and B&Q but threads to wide. British Gas came to complete bolier service and had 2 on his van Myson Air Bleed Shoulder Vents. I still need a further 5 of these so have emailed Myson still not sure what size they are.
