I'm thinking of stripping the bike down this winter and paint the frame wheels and swing arm in black gloss,as i dont know jack about paint can anyone confirm this product would be suitable for the job

my thoughts are to rub down the frame treat any rust with Kurust, then apply 2 coats of black gloss then 4 coats of clear laquer,

Get it powder coated - worth every penny and looks A-MA-ZIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!

The wheels on my R1 where looking quite shabby and the bloke who does the tyres said to get 'em sorted as it'll affect the seal eventually. Strapped the bike up, wheel bearings out and sent them off for a gloss black powder coating.....THINK there may be pictures on here somewhere.

Came back like brand new and it cost me 110 quid I think, or damn close.

Finish was spotless.....seriously, like new!!!

Thanks BG,frame, swingarm and wheels, plus there will be an assortment of bracketry, side stand center stand etc judging by the price of your wheels its going to get expensive any idea how much it would be for all this,

Best bet is to ring a few places, I understand there are different treatments depending on the metal/overall finish. That was a low bake or somthing so it didn't make the wheels brittle?

Worth every penny though.....brother in law went for an anodised finish for his blue zx9R, gold.....not my taste, but looked out of this world.

Can ask him tomorrow what he paid for you, might be better?

The powder coat will be much tougher than rattle can paint.....

If theres a little rust on it, (even if there isn't) they will most likely blast it first to get a good key and even finish, and remove contaminents.
