If I was buying one I'd look at getting something midrange atleased, it needs to be accurate, if buying cheap you need to factor in the cost of a deceent blade because the supplied will be pants

I bought a Screwfix Ferm one about 6 years ago and it has given me very good service for £40. The cuts are accurate and the only complaint is that it does not clear the waste as cleanly as it might on some woods and the waste port gets clogged. It is very similar to this one http://www.screwfix.com/prods/65190/Pow ... t-Jointer#

I am sure there are more expensive ones that will have better blades and more robust adjustment screws. But, I would think you would be less inclined to use it to trim under skirting for laminate floors if you do not have a PMF

Or you could buy a biscuit cutting blade for your router, I use one 'cos it doesn't get used enough to justify buying a dedicated tool

I thought the router cutters cost nearly as much as the cheaper biscuit jointer Razor? The biscuit jointer is much easier to use than the router option but it is another tool to lug around so I see your point.

I have a Ferm one, probably the same as DWDs. Its accurate enough for my needs.

One problem is the guide fence wasnt quite inline with the blade. I took the plastic cover off, and shimmed it out with a few bits of paper folded up. The screw thread stripped on the depth adjuster retaining screw, i tapped it out the next size up.

Cant moan too much, think i bought it on a half priice deal iirc, £25/30
