Hi guys,

I'm in the process of doing some work on my bathroom (ground floor flat with no windows) and needed to remove a vent in the wall at some point. Upon peering into the recess that the vent goes into I discovered that the vent doesn't seem to go anywhere. The bathroom has a separate extractor fan which works fine. So I'm just a bit confused about the need for the vent. Inside there recess there are some pipes that come in from other rooms and also from the floor above, so wanted to check that there was no reason for them to need venting before I cover it up.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul

:welcomeuhm: Are you sure it is not a vent to a services shaft or are there any shut off valves in the pipes? A picture might help someone to identify it!

Sorry for lack of response, been a busy few weeks and not been back to the property for a while. The only thing I can see that could need access to turn off is too far from the vent to be of use, but there are two smaller holes nearby that would help, but they were previously tiled over. It could be a services shaft, but does that need venting, or is it just to make it accessible? Will sort some pics out.
