I got one must be about 8 years ago now... think ive used it less times than the number of years i owned it lol....
are you sure its something your gonna use lol...
oh the thing i did notice, was the futher away the dot is from the target the larger it gets, not idea for exact marking out... dunno if this applies to more modern ones...
mine i belive is a stabila level was abot £90 back then... never intend to buy another, and tbh i prefer using a water level.
just my few pence worth of coment...
what ever you decide to buy try to see one in action and see if its practical for what you want to use it for and does its cost make it worthy of the use it will get!  |

Stabila seem to get good reviews from people.
I bought one a few years back and I used it for fitting some kitchen wall units. It would of been much easier and faster with a normal spirit level and straight edge.
I only bought it from screwfix because it seemed cheap £49 and was self levelling. Only problem was that it was not self levelling at all and had to be done manually

i did hire one some years ago and i thought..yes i ought to buy one of those. i still to this day keep thinking about it as it is very handy for marking sockets in a room all at the same hight.
the one i used was a self levelling laser that spun so fast all the walls looked like they had a red line on (thin one) but i havnt managed to convince myself that it's worth the £400+ that one was back then. i dunno about the standards or prices of today's. |
