The Dark Tower series by Stephen King, took him years to write, and as a consequence me years to read waiting for the next installment, fantastic books though, all of them.

Megaross,

Tolstoy does it for me too, Anna Karenina being an all time favourite! War and Peace also near number one! Do you read Dostoevsky? Crime and Punishment and the Brothers Karamazov being fav!

SSM

Oh yeah war and peace is an absolute classic.
I can't say I've ever read Dostoevsky, I'll have to check him out, thanks :thumbright:

The other dumb internet question I love is 'Can I get a screensaver that's a mirror?'

My favourite is 'The Beach', Alex Garland. I love the idea of escaping everything and heading to paradise. But then I also love the turn the book takes and the realisation that perhaps paradise can never exist...

For those that have named their favourite books but not said why; could you tell us a little about them?

I've just been given a Kindle for Christmas and so am looking for books to read; I love to hear what others enjoy and why.
