my daughter's bedroom is the box room and she has a box built in over the stairs, which takes up half her bedroom, so i want to get her a pine mid sleeper bed but i wanted to know that if i cut down the legs on the bed where the box is and screwed the legs directly to the wall with some strong fixings would this work or is it a silly idea cheers donna

I did pretty much this for someone recently. Keeping the strength in the bed is the important part. I fixed a substantial batten on the wall, at the height of the underside of the side rails. That allowed me to cut the legs off and the end of the headboard frame to sit on the batten, with a couple of screws to stop it moving.

first thoughts what is the wall made from ?? you could probably be neater and remove the legs and screw the bed end on the wall dependent on construction

so has anyone got an idea of what would be a reasonable price for 1 to fit a prebuilt bed or to build a midsleeper from scratch and the walls are brick and the little bit of wall above the stair box is plasterboard
