Hi,
I have a 5 year old Baxi Combi boiler which has recently started to lose pressure. This happens quite quickly and at least 3-4 times a day I need to top it up, seems to drop even faster if we run the hot taps. I have noticed traces of a leak beneath the boiler which appears to come from inside (I put my hand in and could feel traces of water) on the right hand side (although I convinced myself - for some reason - that this may be condensation) above the pressure dial. I don't plan to tackle this job myself although I would like to know if it is likely to be a big job and to cost an arm and a leg! I'm told by 'experts' that this is a rubbish make of boiler.

Cheers in advance...
Davvyb

By the way - the copper 'overflow' to the boiler situated outside is dripping...

If you set the cold fill pressure to 1.3bar how high does it shoot up to when you run the heating

Hi,
There was no immediate 'shoot', it climbed slowly to 1.6 in a few minutes.
Cheers,

I would say it's rising a lot higher as the heating goes on. Be patient and check the pressure gauge, and let us know.

BTW :welcomeuhm:

Hi,
OK, I'll check. In the meantime the hot water seems to be a tad erratic too, going from hot to clap cold when running a bath - this is a new symptom.
Cheers,
DavvyB
