Alrighty, as this covers most of the sub forums I'm plonking it in here to start with.
The time is coming to fit the bathroom suit that has been sitting in the spare room for months. Theres a few problems though just to make it interesting.
1: Would like tiles on the floor but the floorboards are warped and need re-laying, problem is the internal block walls upstairs are built on the floor boards. How do I deal with this? Remove the boards that I can and lay marine ply? I dont want to lay flooring on top of the warped boards and then tile ontop of that as it'll mean making a huge step up into the bathroom.
2: There is a dividing block wall between the bath/shower and the hot water tank in the bathroom - its ruined where the tiles in the shower have leaked and the tiles are falling off along with the plaster on both sides - this has also spread into the room below causing the plaster to blow away near the ceiling in the kitchen. I'm thinking of carefully removing the block wall (lots of pipes mounted to it) and replacing it with studwork, a double layer of plaster board for strength then skim with plaster and tile over the top. Reason for double thickness is there will be a thermostatic mixer mounted on the wall which doesnt have long enough mounts to go through block wall properly.
3: Electrics; Thermostatic mixer with seperate pump - planning on locating the pump under the end of the bath where the floor is open allowing it to breath. Also power for immersion heater and spur for old electric shower (now feeds shower pump) need making tidy once wall is removed and an extension made to reach far end of bath. Towel rail, loo and basin should be straight forward.
4: I'm sure there will be more.
Pretty much floor, fittings and tiles out and replaced. I've added some images below to show the state of things a is. Hell I'd even like to hear what kinda price I'd be looking at to get someone in on this as its a bit more then I can handle I think....
