Hi All;

As you may have seen from previuos posts I am slowly working through modernising my house, I am now moving onto the bathroom, and have a couple of electrical related questions.

The bathroom is directly above the garage where the consumer unit is;

1 I am going to install undefloor mat type heating, how much of the job can I do myself, the kit comes with thermostat/controller, if I were working back towards the consumer unit, can it feed directly into the mini RCD, or via a FCU.

2 The current 45amp pull cord is in the wrong place (can be operated from shower), the feed from consumer unit comes up one of the internal walls by the door, can the feed go via a switched FCU outside the bathroom?

3 I also need to install an extracter fan, ideally I would like this to come on when the shower is turned on, however I believe this is not possible due to the 45amp circuit, what options are available?

4 Finally I am fitting a heated mirror with built in lights and shaver socket, will a live feed from the lighting circuit suffice?

Many Thanks

CM999

Switched Fcu outside the bathroom.

:scratch: Shouldn't need a Fcu, should be possible to re jig the wiring to where you want the switch.[quote="cm999"]

You'll need a timer overrun to meet regs...Take a permanent live and switched live via fcu from the shower switch..

You'll need a live ,Neutral and earth (Assuming the mirror lights have their own switch)

As this is work in a special location, the above work is notifiable to Building control. As such it may be more cost effective to employ an Electrician who can self-certify the work.

Thanks for the assistance guys; :thumbright:

Regarding an FCU for the shower, was just looking at the posability of doing away with a pull cord switch, think I'll get a sparky in to assist, will probably have enough on me plate, with plumbing & tiling!!!! :boxing:
