10 days start to finish with 4 and a half days away on two other jobs, so 5 and a half days work in total on it for me. Just the odd pop in whilst on the other jobs to kick the plumbers up the arris. Mind you some of those days were 11 hour stints to make up time.

Ducting behind the shower was extended to the left. Wall with window was stripped back and dot and dabbed. Tiling had to be set out to get the mosaic where the client wanted them. 3 band mosaic and just wouldn't work so I had to add an extra band of them.

Bath Store products..........nice! I thought Wickes were the only shabby outlet that did flat pack.

We do loads of bathrooms where they have the walls and ceiling painted but not the door frame, door and architraves! Why spend out and be tight at the last detail? I wouldn't mind but most of the bathrooms we do are in 'money' properties for higher earners.

Lurvely work Royal oak :thumbleft:

Maybe it's just the camera but seems a wee bit dark in there?

Love the band of mosaics, just like mine. I went 4 high as well as had enough and agree 3 just doesn't give enough depth. Hoping to do something similar in another bathroom with the back to the wall unit.

Good job by the way.

More than a wee dark. If there were health and safety laws for a minimum light reading for a bathroom they would be banged up in nick lol. The only lighting is the two spots above the mirror!

Do you have to have a Gloria Extractor fan too? I often wondered.....I've put one in my new bathroom, but not the en-suite. I'm sure it should have one, but not had any issues (yet).

None of the bathrooms in this block have extractor fans and like this bathroom they all have a single lighting point on the wall.

The ceilings are concrete and with a floor to ceiling height of 2.5M you would have thought that at least one clued up client would have gone for the option of a dropped ceiling, a lighting plan and extraction. Still it isn't up to us to think, just to marvell at the 'no thank you' replies to suggestions.

Nice job RO. It reminds me of Moscow airport with that lighting, that's pretty gloomy. It would have looked much better with some proper lighting. It is a pity to hide all that great work in the gloom.

Nice clean and tidy job :thumbright:

Looks like a half decent styled bi-fold shower screen to, do you know where that's from?

Were the floor tiles lined up with something?

The shower screen came from Bath Store, so will be a copy of a designer one.

Floor tiles are lined up with the wall tiles so had to jiggle around with setting out. Couldn't set the floor tiles to door centre as it looked wrong on the wall. If the edge of the shower screen looks to be in line with the grout lines of the tiles then it is probably the camera angle.

I was in two minds as to whether or not to line them up due to the thin rip of tiles behind the door, especially with that wall being pi55ed, but it works out well to other areas. I couldn't split the wall because it would have left 40mm rips in each corner along the length of the bath.

It was the thin cuts that I noticed and wondered if there was a reason they couldn't have been kicked over 30 or 40mm.

Got to say I dislike bath store gear as most is over priced and ive had problems with the finish on their taps not lasting. Shame as the screen looks good

Bath store is just a cheap european made copy of designer stuff. I am not too keen on the quality of it either.

If the client had been around then I would have offset the joints after discussing it with her, but this is one of her properties she rents out and after seeing how exact she wanted the mosaic to be for position I didn't want to chance just doing it.

Shame because a lot of our clients just trust us to get on with it and do how we see fit to leave the best finish.

Thats quality looking work there sir.

What do you use to get such a neat silicone bead?

I use a fugi kit myself but always struggle coming off the bath to go up the wall. Its right in the corner I find fiddly, any tips?!! How do you go behind taps?

Also do you use different coloured silicone to match the colour of the tiles?

Right no more silicone questions I promise!!
