i recently bought a new bath & the plug/overflow end is slightly rounded, meaning that the standard overflow which is designed to go on a flat surface won't seal properly. what's the best course of action? should i just seal it up using standard silicone sealant? i'm just concious of making a mess but i guess it'l be ok

Never had one not seal yet

Perhaps a pic of how you are doing it would be an idea.

How about the other side, is there a big washer in place.

Normally I would expect to cut a couple of threads of the plastic.

It's important to get it on the right thread as well.

i can't cut any thread off, the curve of the bath is preventing me tightening up enough as it is, that's the point.

If you measure it, the thread is longer than the depth of the chrome part.
