I've got two of these behind my shed, they were to go on the allotment but we gave it up.

Does anyone know if every barrel like this is designed to unscrew at the top? They do seem to be slightly threaded around the rim. Although we found a plastic tap that'd fit the screw hole in the top, it'd mean building a cradle to use them effectively. If the lid unscrewed it could have a tap fitted in the side, saving construction work. I've tried removing the top but it won't budge. Helpful suggestions appreciated. :thumbright:

I didn't really want to cut the lid off because I want them as water butts for the shed and greenhouse.

you can't take the lid off Blu, there is a 2" entry with a course thread but to have a full width opening you have to cut the top off

Looks like we'll have to make some cradles for them to rest on.

I could use a few of those barrels for collecting rainwater in. Where are they sold and for how much?
