:help:

Hi all,

I'm converting a barn (into holiday lets) - it was built in 1888, Ruabon red brick 9 inch walls, so no cavity - and the BCO has recommended a bitumen type covering to be applied to the interior walls - 3 coats - which will be a hell of a job to apply by hand even if I use a roller or a yard brush.
The next steps will be to lap the DPC over this to a height well above ground level outside (the barn is on a hill) then tape it to the bitumen. Then studwork etc as normal.

I'm after some advice please - can bitumen type coatings be sprayed, or are there any other alternatives on the market, obviously I've looked on the net & asked around - I've got a guy from Sempatap coming around to quote but I doubt if I'll be able to afford it frankly.

Am I missing something? Wouldn't be the 1st time....

Incidentally - I am doing this on a Building Notice - hence no full spec plans.

Martin.

I have found a mop to be an effective way to apply it. From the looks of it your just over the hill and a bit from me.
