After taking up most of the floors in my mates flat, this may explain why his combi boiler was loosing pressure...
Also spot the errors...

So the grey is it standard cold water pipe?
I know you can mix, but it's not recommended.
Trick question. _________________ Jaeger.

i think its ok to mix & match pipe & fittings, as all OD are the same.
You're right they used non barrier grey pipe for the whole system, apart from the elbow (below floor) to the rad valve, where they used speedfit.
any other problems you can see? _________________ www.hintonheating.com

Nah, you should not mix and match plastic pipe and fittings!
If you read their instructions it specifies that you must only use their fittings on their pipe. You might get away with it, but if you ever needed to make a claim then you do not have a leg to stand on!
I can't see the pipe inserts from here ?
The manufacturers of the pushfit fittings and pipe do not give proper instructions for the items they are selling. Only last week my friend asked me if you could use pushfit on chrome pipe. I said that you can but you need to remove the chrome plating first.
He asked at the plumbers and the answer was "yes of course you can" ? _________________ DIY | DIY Video |

nope, no insert on that joint.
and the o ring, was only just on the end of pipe, hence why was leaking... wasn't pushed home! :o _________________ www.hintonheating.com
