Be careful with the knotting, I tried it with white knotting and when I painted the walls it blead through like a bad stain

That's a strange one I gotta say. Not quite sure how shellac would bleed through paint like a stain  It wasn't just shining through by any chance? Or not fully dried?

so what's everyones choice of paste the wall lining paper?
Always stayed away from paste the wall lining paper worried about it on a porous wall. Normal lining paper ( i paste paper and wall) at least i feel confident i won't get any bubbles.
But got 2 houses to line top to bottom soon so thought about trying the paste the wall.

Wallrock premier, finish is superb, just make sure you use a decent roller(wooster pro dooz 3/8), you can even fill the joints and rub them down before you put a coat on the wallls, the paper don't fur up and the paint just glides on, pucka stuff, get the 75cm wid roll and maybe a standard size for the smaller cuts

Somebody mentioned 'Red Label' and have to say I hated it! I thought seeing as it was made by MAV I couldn't go wrong but I was up against it one sunday and the only place I could pick up lining was from Toolstation. I'm not sure but my guess is it isn't virgin pulp but recycled and it just didn't feel right to me and when the finish paper went on some areas failed. I won't risk it again that's for sure

It was me and I am inclined to agree with you.

I recommend this stuff. It has a normal paper lining paper type of finish. Not really sure I would want an absolutely smooth finish as it might show up texture a bit too much - the slight roughness helps to hide things.

It is much better than wallrock to hang. I just bung it on now with a thinnish coat of ready mixed and the seams stay as tight as Kylie's butt. If you manage to maintain your concentration whilst hanging you won't have any seam filling at all. (paste wall, lift edge of roll from floor = v quick too)

Hmmm yes that nice and that tight... Good to find that before the Mods put it in their private collections.
