Signed up at Trade Point today, [Ashford Kent] My next doors had to replace their ceiling fan, saw the one they wanted in Homebase over the weekend, I said hang on for a week as I'm going too Trade Point, Flicked through their TRADE CATALOGUE £32.15 + vat = £37.77 The price in Homebase £34.00 Including vat, but in saying that the same ceiling fan in B&Q £41.00 so your saving £3.23, Like most things you have to shop around but you would have thought being in the trade you would have got a better discount.

The only benefit from the trade point is that it is open all day sat Sunday. Just try getting a pallet of cement. 30min wait if busy. Iv been offered to work for them in January 2011 but I got tipped of it’s a nightmare. Be handy for inside info.

Still finding trade point handy, but the catalogue has stuff spread between the store stock and its own racked stock. You hand the codes over, and you get it back saying you get these 3 items from store stock. You end up in there for way too long.

So half the stuff is in one place, and half the stuff spread over the store.

Other thing that happens is if you need 4 of one item, they can say we have 2 in the racked stock, and 2 on the shop floor, and you have to go and get them. ::b

Its a pain in the arse really, and its much quicker to go to a screwfix or toolstation desk and pick up your pre ordered stuff.

Its still handy getting sheet materials cheap (and cut) in the evenings, and for picking up stuff you've forgotten

now been told last night that a lot of the stuff in the catalogue are next day delivery.Whats the point of that?? They are not marked as next day delivery. Why would you go in to get some stuff, and have to wait till next day? Surely you would order from screwfix / toolstation directly in this case, and get it delivered next day, or just go to the screwfix /toolstaion trade desks instead, where they have everything (ish) in their catalogue in stock.

:? :? :?

If any of you want inside info like mentioned just give me a shout as i work for the Q. Iv brought up in countless meeting about the 30min wait for a pallet of cement. We always keep one handy now. Trade guys want, in & out no ******* about. Weekend suck as you will have about 5 real staff and the rest is school kids. ::b
The smaller stores offer the next day delivery which as mentioned is not much good as you want the thing now. The larger w/h stores "promise" you that they will have your order ready in 7 mins. :hiding:
