Matalan i am sure i got one of those cards when i went to one of their stores about 10/15 years ago.I could never work out why you needed one.Like these big supermarkets with a big queue and nobody at the tills and all these supermarket workers just standing around ,i just leave my shopping and walk out.The self service checkouts are a waste of time also .

so, with that logic, you will never been seen in Selco either, or any trade outlet that requires a card to buy?

If you needed a card at B&Q from day one, then fair enough. But if it is true that I can't use the trade checkout without a card I'll leave my trolley and walk out and shop elsewhere

Been there and got the Tee shirt.

Wish b&q would tell there existing trade account users whats going on ::b , i run my own handyman/ garden maintenance business and find it very annoying, as products have started vanishing from there website which i use to price up jobs as prices are very simular to instore, when i ask why its so they can do this new trade point and a book of goods is availble no sign at my local store till june! so if i cant see there products I will go else where.

Just incase u guys do not realise both B&Q and Screwfix are part of the Kingfisher group so i think there hoping what is not availble in Screwfix u can get in B&Q or visa versa, however i have found some of the quality o products in both shops not as good and have often visited Wickes instead. Customer service is appaling :cussing: i asked a product question and 2 months later they came back with an answer i had already got it from another store by then.

Seems that they hope we will stick with them till they sort thereselves out, not sure we will still be a float if thats the case might be swimming with the fishes like the titanic if we do! :hello2:

just asked where the freebees were

Did get 12 bags of Hanson driveway tarmac for £3.68 each. My local builders merchant said he cant buy them in at that price. They wanted £5.50 a bag.

Also got some pop up cones, as I'm doing a lot of work for a restaurant company at the moment, and I must have a shield of cones when I get my tools out

I was moved over on to trade point 8 weeks ago being told that I would be better off!! 2 weeks ago iI noticed that a lot of the prices are the same as in store, also the store price is better when there is a 15% or 20% off sale. I was a lot better off under the old discount card. Under trade point about 50% of what I have had from trade point has been more expensive than the trade card. The old card was bad as you never knew what price you are getting but trade point is simplaly ruddish, next time anyone goes in check the prices of all bags of plaster and sand, same price in trde point as on the shop floor. I just had 16 2.4 meter lengths of MDF skirting delivered @ £14.31 a length in store £13.98 plus would have got 10% of the old card!! When you ask if some one can sort it they say that it's not down to them it's all set up by head office, spoke to head office at B and Q and they don't have any undersanding of trade point!

Just look out Trade point is not good £40,000 spend in the last 8 weeks and i am out of pocket about £600 pounds, and no one at trade point can do anything about it. If you still have your old discount card in general you will be better off using.

Anyone spending that kind of money in B&Q deserves to get ripped off.

You'd have been thousands better off had you gone to a trade merchant and sorted a deal out. I could have saved £10k minimum on £40k spend

B&Q Trade catalogues are almost the same as the screwfix cats, even the order numbers are the same except for a 7 infront of them but unlike screwfix they dont include vat. I suspect that where B&Q have opened a trade outlet Their nearby screwfix outlets won't exist for long.

I always questioned why the same company would have a B&Q and a Screwfix trade centre close to each other, it just doesn't make any sense

I went in B&Q today, What used to be the building/trade outlet is now marked as the tradepoint (As already mentioned)- for trade only!

It was pointless me going there to pay as it was clearly marked as trade only, so I had to walk to the other tills with my plasterboard :cb

My local store's trade area changes to a Trade Point last week. Old discount card is being discontinued. Prices seem to be same as Screwfix and Screwfix is only 2 mins away.
