Our ceilings are generally Artex painted with ceiling paint. I need to patch a few areas of ceiling where stud walls have been removed with artex.

I wondered whether I will have to pva the ceiling first before patching up and making good the Artex, because of the paint layer. scratch
I don't want to use the stuff and not have it stick.
All advice gratefully received. Thumbright

If? it's just patching, then you should only need to PVA a few inches on to the existing Artex and patch up, Thumbright if you are concidering doing the entire ceiling again? scratch then the best way forward would be to scrape back all of the existing stuff to get a reasionable smooth surface, Smile then use an Artex sealer, PVA has been known to cause problems later on! Shocked then re Artex the ceiling Thumbright
