 Post subject: Arrrgh lathan plaster

I really struggle to hang anything on my walls becuase the lathan plaster just crumbles. I cant afford to replaster, any suggestions about what wall fixings would work best??

and if the good lady insists that the picture must go 6" to the right of a stud?

Ready drivers (also called easy drivers etc. depending on make) are the best thing to fix to plaster though they are really designed to go into plaster board I think. If the plaster is very soft I doubt even they will work?

If SWMBO wants it somewhere else you smack a big hole in the wall. making as much mess and dust as possible, fit a noggin, make good and go up the pub leaving her to clean up :lol:

As the Almighty scruff has said fix to the stud work
Right here go's

stud work SHOULD be at every 400mm/40cm from one side of the wall once you find one all the rest will be easy. You can test this by knocking no the wall or using a stud finder

Actually ChippyTom, with lathe and plaster the studs are more likely to be nearer 300mm :thumbright:

I've never built one either, worked on a few over the years though. :thumbright:
