I might buy one of those. I often have little jobs that I think I could do a small weld to sort out.

Can this run off a 13amp socket????

Hi DWD, They are 50/60 hz - running of 240v mains using a 13amp plug. I checked them out last year there ok for d.i.y. occational use and they'll do a 5mm piece of steel easily, and if you chamfer both pieces edges to 45deg 5mm down you can do a 10mm weld also if you take your time.

Thanks for that Sticks, it seems that it is ideal for odd little jobs. The thing I was thinking of was putting a weld on the nuts that hold a field gate in place on the hinges so no pikey can nick the gate. Seems like a good buy for that money.

I am now the proud owner of one of these welders. I will have to start playing with it when I get the chance. :thumbright:

I have not had a go yet Hitch. The manual is very basic and I need to understand the Amps setting and all that stuff. I will be asking questions no doubt
