Hey folks , newbie to the forum here . Am a wall and floor tiler and love Abit of diy so you should be seeing a lot of me ha . Hope everyone's well tonight .

Any ideas what wood this table is made off , it is very heavy an I think it's a hardwood . I want to get some matching furniture in the same wood as I like the grain . Any help will be great , thanksImage

It's walnut I think. Could be European ("English") or "American black walnut" The lighter band is the sapwood, which is typical.

It's nice timber. Walnut's expensive. Any idea of the maker?

Not sure on the make , it's only got a carving of the number 95 on it dunno if that means it was made in 1995?? I'm sure we will have the table a long time

Carved in numbers sounds like it might have been made as a one off though.
Could possibly be American. (?)

Looks like Furniture Village south american cheap mango/swamp wood to me. Especially given the mid 2000's onwards style of legs poking through the lid.

I'll eat my hat if that's walnut.
