Had to get rid of my Mark 3 transit before the new emissions rules come into force in London in January . Thinking of getting a smaller Connect this time around. Ideally with roof bars, steel bulkhead and ply lined.
I'll need it for basic hand tools, bags of cement, wacker plate /mixer when moving gear on to the next job. The odd time with the other van I would get bagged up materials like ballast up to 1/2 a ton when we'd run out, so I don't know if the connect would like that kind of weight in the back?
If anyone has one, I'd appreciate any thoughts and common things that go wrong with them.
Budget is tight , so I'm looking probabaly at a van around 2005, 80k miles kind of mark, looking on autotrader Prices are around £3400. I'm not set on the connect, I might go for a SWB transit either.
Thanks!

My son has a Connect, they are good little vans, you can even get the mixer in the side door, nice and rugged. Hes even pulled my 10 x 5 Ifor williams trailer with it. Pity your not nearer Gloucestershire, I have a good contact who scources vans/cars to suit, he does the auctions etc, forresty commision and motability, he only gets tidy low mileage stuff, serviced and tested, lets you have it for a week and no obligation to buy.
