Several years ago, I fitted a termostatic mixer tap on my shower. After a year or so, it started delivering cool water only. Tried cleaning it and adjusting the cartridge, but neither had any permanent effect, so replaced it. Excellent, job done!

Now it's happened again....and it's all my fault and frost is forming on my relationships with female members of the household.

It's connected to a combi boiler and, as I live in France, both h & c are at mains pressure. Pipe runs are less than 5m, but I suppose they could be furred up - they are only 16mm and have been there for nearly 20 years. Maybe buying cheap mixer taps was a bad idea.

Any thoughts would be most welcome.

Buy another cheap mixer tap and try it.

Perhaps clean the filter out on the inlets if it has them.

Thanks, Scruff. I was afraid that I was missing something about pressure differences or the inner workings of the cartridge, but a simple "replace" I can do!
