Dead at 27, what a waste of a young life.

The BBC News web site has four pages of a smack-head singer dying, possibly from an overdose or alcohol poisoning.

Then they have one page each for minor world wide incidents such as:

"Norwegians are mourning the victims of a massacre at an island youth camp and a bombing in the capital Oslo."
and
"At least 32 people have died and 100 more are hurt after two high-speed trains crashed into each other in eastern China"

Where are their priorities? ::b ::b ::b

It would be sad if it was just a 'normal' 27 year old young lady, but she has certainly abused her body (if news reports and pictures are anything to go by) so who cares about her. Wasn't it just a matter of time?

Gadget,
I wasn't getting at you, I was disgusted by the amount of publicity the BBC was giving it.
I had written my post before I saw yours and decided to post in your thread rather than have two threads running about the same topic.

2500 children died in Africa today due to drinking dirty water. Since when did the degree of media coverage follow any sort of logic? AW was a continuing news story in the UK and the press will feed that demand, hence the level of coverage. She had parents and a sibling and my heart goes out to them all. I have kids of a similar age and whether they were drug users or alcoholics is not important. Besides that, the cause of death is currently unknown so best not speculate at this stage. 27 and dead is terrible regardless of occupation, fame or fortune. RIP AW.
