Be aware that the supplier of Aldi's PowerCraft tools has gone into administration so I suspect that the 3yr warrenty is now also useless.

I find this quite dissapointing.
I bought 3 pallets of 'unchecked customer return' power craft tools from the manufacturer about 3 years ago. 75% worked and had clearly been bought to do a job and returned (in full working order) once the job was done or just the customer had changed their mind and sent an item back for a refund unused. A further 20% had simple faults such as a petrol chainsaw which had clearly been WELL used over some very considerable period of time (chain was worn out - and I mean had been used, sharpened, used sharpened repeatedly untill there was very little tooth left to sharpen) the fault with that was that there had been too much oil in the petrol and the spark plug was all carboned up. Worked a treat once I cleaned the plug!
I made good money seling the tools on car boot sales.

I was actually quite impressed with the valuse for money these tools offered and ease of repair when they did go wrong such that I then bought several other power craft tools new from aldi and they are still going strong. (SDS drill, electric planer, battery drill etc.)
