Yes I'm on the Mythic. It SEEMS to be two coat joy all the way. Two coats of the primer on bare wood and it's solid as. I have been waiting 20 years for this product!!!!!!! Opacity of the eggshell is prize winning too, but it looked a little matt to me.
The trouble is that I've been using it in a couple of dark properties and currently the customer is insisting on FnB estate eggshell so cannot put up a full review saying definitely get some or not- I really haven't tried it that much and worked out the best way of applying it. It takes a pretty long time to really get the best out of a paint. But it SEEMS to be the case that it is GREAT. Watch out for the semi-gloss though which is about the same sheenwise as a normal wb gloss, I'll be mixing it with a bit of the eggshell or primer to find a good satin and eggshell.

Yes they are American I believe, from TDS. I think can now announce TDS have been taken over by Brewers... not the best news, but they are allowing Sarah to keep her range of Mythic and I think the brushes too.

My point (made poorly) is that, if you block a stain with undercoat, the undercoat does not yellow and show through the two coats of emulsion on top of it. To my knowledge, it never has. Emulsion being much more porous than Acrylic Trim paint, I think you are safe.
If the yellowing came through the surface of the oil based paint, then it would have always been possible to wipe it off with a rag and some solvent and that isn't the case.
The chemistry of the paint has changed. To reduce the VOC content, they have had to add more non Volatile Organic Compound. The non volatile ones are longer chain carbon molecules. Longer chains of carbon atoms means (approx) darker colour. This is what contributes to the increased yellowing. It also contributes to increased drying times for the paint.
If you really worry about this, wouldn't it serve to use Zinsser Bin because the Shellac would act like knotting to block and bleed through?
