Stretching will not prevent the pain that you feel when exercising or after exercising, it can help a little.

The pain is Lactic acid build up, years ago you could get a muscle rub made by a firm called Davina and it used to actually work.

Deep heat rub can sometimes help.

If I used to train legs at the gym and then go kickboxing the same day my legs used to kill and would be sore for days.

I had a rest today as I've been at school most of the day, I reckon it'll be better tomorrow after a rest. When I used to go to the gym I vaguely remember training different body parts on alternate days to allow muscles to recover. The aching bits are the sides of my bottom right above the hip bone. I wonder whether I'd be better wearing my leather walking boots because they have a higher heel than my walking shoes.

Aching bit with arrows borrowed from Vlad the impaler's album!

How often do you ware heels?

This is part of your problem, the muscles in the leg have become acustomed to being streched by you foot position in heels, and by wearing flat shoes, you are streching the muscles back the other way.

As one have said, rest them on alternate days. :thumbright:

Rome was not built in a day!

I alternate between flat and 3" wedge boots. I usually have pain in my calves if I wear flatties after prolonged heels.

i didn't mean it would stop the pain, i meant it would ease the hell out of it.

if you do legs at the gym and then stretch like mad for a couple of days, it eases the hell out of the ache.

doing the same exercise again stops the aching more than anything but it hurts like hell to do it for the 1st 5 mins.

BTW is that what you really look like with no clothes on Lou???

It's funny seeing the muscles move! I'm trying it for 2 months, if it works fine, if not I'll eBay it!

My hubby takes Glutamine before he runs/trains etc... and he doesn`t get any achy muscles. I think it works by levelling out the lactic acid or something like that.

I got a Flex Max Slendertone belt. I whack it on to 100 for an hour when I get upp at 6 am. It's great, all the abs really contract. I'll see what it's like after 6 weeks.
I've just done a 2 hour round trip with the dog, I walk 128 steps a minute which I assume is about 4mph as it's fairly brisk, but I'm not sure how that's worked out. I clipped the pedometer on and I just walked 13636 steps excluding steps walked without it on. You're supposed to do an extra 10,000 steps a day to aid fitness. I walked 16000 steps yesterday too so it all helps.
My legs feel fine now I must be getting used to it.
