Unsure where to post this.

A few years ago I bought some bicycle recorders for work. These are powered by 6v battery with two AA back up batteries. The problem was the back up batteries could not be easily replaced as the manufacturer had sneakily spot welded these in. I managed to get hold of a guy locally to change the batteries and install new AA battery holders so we can easily change the batteries ever year or so. He only done about half of them as I wanted to wait to see if there were any problems before changing the rest. However I waited too long and the guy retired and there's no where locally I can have tehse changed so I'll try myself but I've no idea where I can source the battery holder things or even what they're called.

Any ideas?

Cheers SE. Just didn't know what they were called. Can't buy from Ebay though as work won't reimburse me. At least I know what they're called though :thumbleft:

I haven't checked but try www. cpc.co.uk for them free delivery over £5 (net) spend, VAT invoice provided.

Or RS Components.

I used to use CPC when at work (selling cheaper stuff than Farnell) :-)

There standard battery holders - rapid electronics (conrad) are reasonable and don't charge a fortune for post
