Sorry, me getting my words mixed up again - happens alot. I meant the slot cut into the uprights for the shelf to sit in. No big deal, just a bit surprised to a see nothing but imperial sizes in the set.

You could make a second pass to expand the width of the slot.

i just butt glue and screw into 12mm had no probs yet

mark the shelve sides in pairs side by side 2 lines 12mm apart
drill a 3mm hole 25mm from each end between the lines every 2" or so
use 2" no 6s
line the shelve up with the side between the lines as a letter "T" or"L"
lay on the face so the front lines up drill a single hole into the shelve though the hole in the side
place a mastic clamp in the area where the screw will enter the shelve at the top back glue the shelve edge with a 1mm glue beed insert the screw firmly but slowly on the last 2 turns use the pozi 2 bit as a countersink before insertion

holding the 2 componants firmly in place drill a hole near the back pilot with the bit again and insert screw again carefully on the last 2 turns
undo the clamp if the board dosnt delaminate leave the clamp off
coutersink and drill out all holes on that side repeat every shelve down the side

repeat for the other side
when complete rub glue into any cracks and use a mastic clamp to close up the cracks

if you plan on routering a rebate for the back you need to assemble top and sides rebate 6x6mm in the back then affix the shelves that are 6mm shallower to sit from the front to the rebate
if you want to put a small moulding on the face you can do that at the finnish unless the top overhangs then you need to router the top and the the top 4 inches off the shelves as these cant be reached with the top in place

clear as mudd eehh
or as scruff says 2 passes although 12.7 is perfect for 12mm as the mdf will swell and the glue can easily fill 1mm indeed if you cut a 12mm slot you would have to ease the mdf edges to fit in :thumbleft:
