Just wondering what the difference is between them or advantages are, as im going to start doing home brewing and theres a company that will make mash tun, boilers qnd cooling coils custom made out of either 201 stainless steelor 304. Thanms in advance

The grades designate the different amounts of the various metals making it up.
The 201 will be the cheaper option i bet.
Basically though, the 201 has more manganese, but less nickel than the 304, and slightly less chromium too (which mainly provides the corrosion resistance)
I dont believe it changes the corrosion resistance very much at all, but it will be slightly harder, so the material can be slightly thinner, and keeping costs down even further.
Which to go for, i have no idea, never used 201.
All the stainless i use seems to be 304, 316, 321 or 347
