Trying to swap out a 2 gang switch for a 2 gang dimmer. Thing is, 1 of the switches is a 2 way (correct term?) ... it's switchable on/off in another location.

1) Is it possible just to swap in a 2 gang dimmer and it all works the same?
2) Can I assume I just swap like for like when it comes to COM, L1 and L2?

Yes you can...............

The term "2-way" means that the light is switched 2 ways, from this switch and the switch over there. (Where ever over there is)

The usual restrictions apply regarding the dimmer.
Are the existing lamps dimmable?
Are the lamps more than the dimmer can dim
etc, etc.

Point to note.

Most 2 gang switches are 2 single switches side by side, with one upside down in relation to the other. Just like both of yours are.

Great, thanks for the info.
Can I assume that I can't put 25w dimmable bulbs in? ie: It has to be within the 40-250w range? I read somewhere that if it says 40-250 you should start with 60w as you don't want to get to close to the 'range edge' and freak it out.

You can, if you have at least two, since 25 x 2 =50 which is more than the 40 minimum, that said 25w lamps? what (not watt) are they? and if they are LED, can your dimmer operate LED lamps?

These 25w lamps, are they 12v? I am guessing they are, in which case is the transformer that supplies them dimable? if it isn't........

I can't see anything about 12v or voltage at all. Also, what do you mean by 'is the transformer that supplies them dimable?'
... sorry I'm obviously more out of my depth than I thought. Appreciate the help though.

25Watt lamps are probably 12v.
The mains is 230v
You need a "transformer" to transform 230v to 12v.
They are not true transformers, but electronic power supplies.
Most of these power supplies will not work on a dimmer switch.

Have a look in the light fitting and see what is there / post a clear in focus picture

Would the transformer be in the 'rose' part of the light fitting or the 'lamp holder' part?

Easiest way to tell if these are 12 Volt or not is to remove a bulb and post a pic.

Excuse the delay. These are the fittings with the bulb removed.

Pic 1 looks to be a standard bayonet cap, Pic 2 :dunno:

I meant a pic of the bulb BTW...

A picture of the whole lamp would be better, not just the end cap
