Hi,
i thought i would help my friend as i am a bit more knowledgable on pc than him, his hdd is corrupt in his lappie and he got a new one with a 2.5 external USB case, however when I plug new hdd into usb port on my desktop it doesnt show up in 'my computer' or anywhere.
Am I missing something? I havent tried it in his laptop yet but I wanted to check in case I need to send it back.
Should i be doing something to initialise it the drive?

Thanks

Start - settings - control panel - administrative tools - computer management

Expand 'storage' and go to 'disk management'

Should show up there and it allows you to initialise it if required.
