Chrome pipe can be cut with a pipe slice or an hacksaw, but a hacksaw is preferred because chrome pipe is so tough that it will soon damage the blade on a pipe slice. Do not be tempted to use an abrasive disk and angle grinder to cut the tube as copper particles can be toxic.

Cutting chrome pipe with an hacksaw

When cutting chrome pipe a hack saw or junior hacksaw is recommended as the chrome plating is so tough that it will soon damage a pipe slice.

Once you have cut the pipe with an hack saw it is a good idea to remove any burrs with either a de-burring tool or some abrasive paper.
