Hook fasteners come in many different types, some of which require them to be fastened either directly into wood or into a suitable wall plug.

These stainless steel hook fasteners are normally used in concrete and have excellent load bearing capacities. Simply drill the hole to the correct size and hammer the fixing into the hole. The weights that can be supported are very impressive being 280kg and 370kg.
Cup hooks are very useful and are, as their name suggests used in some instances to hold cups. These are often seen screwed into kitchen furniture to facilitate the holding of cups and such items. Normally these would be drilled into wood but can also be used on masonry with the correct size wall plug.
